I am in Hong Kong working with KJ Choi at the UBS Hong Kong Open. I haven't seen KJ for a few weeks since the Tour championship and a few problems had crept in to his technique. He was setting up with his weight to much in his heels and his hips were closed to the target. The main problem was that from this setup position he couldn't load up into his right knee on the back swing and he had lost power and was at least one club shorter than he had been all year. We have worked on getting this before, but feel is a strange thing. KJ felt that he was creating the same position as earlier this year when he won twice and yet the position that feel put him in was totally different. KJ asked me to do some work with a young Korean golfer that he has been mentoring. His name is Sung Man Lee. Sung is representing Korea in the world cup next week. What is remarkable about Sung is that he is totally deaf. Deaf golfers often struggle with their balance, but Sung Lee is a fantastic athlete and I think from what I have seen this week , he will be a world class player to look out for.Steven Bann is one of the World's most successful golf coaches. Accolades include 2010 Australian PGA coach of the year. Nominated to the World Golf Hall of Fame by Australian PGA 2011, Ranked 12th most influential person in Australian golf from the past 40 Years by Australian Golf Digest.
